Pros And Cons

  • These are top-notch in terms of noise cancellation and isolation.
  • Touchpad: this is such a cool feature.
  • Battery life, 30-40 hours
  • The app is easy to use, to pick between different general modes.
  • When you connect the wires you get even better quality!

  • Connectivity is not as easy as QC35 or others.
  • They do feel hot to wear after a while. Not comfortable on hot days. Bose may be a better fit there.

    Hey David,

yet another well-written review I’m reading from you. Good job!!! I love noise cancellation headphones and how well this tech has developed over the recent years. Here in Germany, though, I often see bikers riding their bikes with headphones on, some even wearing ANC enabled headphones. That’s kind of dangerous! But that’s obviously not technology’s fault, but people being too stubborn to use their gadgets in a safe environment.

One thing I really like about the featured headphones (and something I miss on my current ones) is that they can be used wired AND wireless. One question, though: When the batteries are empty, can you still use the headphones wired (with ANC turned off, obviously). Does that work and if it does, is the sound quality still good?

    All the best,

      Hello Chris,

I reall do appreciate your comments. I thought I remembered you. LOL! I appreciate all the kind words my friend.

To answer your question: The answer is yes and the sound quality is a yes also. I puulled some extra facts from Sonys website as well just to give a more description.

      1. Use the supplied cable for uninterrupted truly High-Resolution Audio7 and noise canceling for up to 40 hours.

      3. Use the supplied cable for uninterrupted truly High-Resolution Audio and noise canceling for up to 13 hours.4

You can enjoy music by connecting the supplied headphone cable to the headset even when the headset is turned off. In this case the noise canceling function is not available.

To enjoy high resolution audio music or use the noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode, turn the headset on.

Use the supplied plug adaptor for in-flight use when you enjoy the in-flight entertainment.

The headset turns off automatically if you disconnect the supplied headphone cable while the headset is turned on.

When an incoming call arrives, a ring tone will be heard via the headphones. Answer the call using your smartphone or mobile phone, and talk using the microphone of the phone. You can hear the voice of the caller from the headphones.

If you disconnect the headphone cable from the smartphone or mobile phone, you can talk using the microphone and speaker of the phone.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you for commenting. Take care of yourself Chris

Hi David. Thanks for that review on the Sony Headphones. I didn’t realize there were so many new features available now. I especially like the Quick Attention Mode and the Touch Control, that’s pretty cool. I have a 13 year old boy David (great name that) who spends all his time with his headphones on watching YouTube and listening to music. What headphones would you recommend for a 13 year old? He likes the type that goes over your ear, not on your ear.
Great post, you review some pretty cool stuff. Thanks for all the info.
